The India Independent Bookfair
The India Independent Bookfair will be a landmark event for independent publishing in the country. By bringing together publishers, booksellers, writers, and readers under one roof, the fair will showcase the sheer range of books produced outside the mainstream corporate presses. The IIBI Lecture Series
The IIB Lectures will be a series of seasonal talks, panels, and conversations designed to highlight the ideas and authors at the heart of our publishing. Each event will foreground the questions and debates shaping our times—whether through feminist critique, children’s literature, or radical histories—with writers and thinkers from our collective leading the discussion. By situating these events in public spaces—bookstores, universities, cultural institutions—we aim to create opportunities for readers to engage directly with independent authors and publishers.

The Independent Bookshelf Online will be a digital platform designed to give independent books and booksellers the visibility they deserve. At present, readers often struggle to discover titles beyond the limited range promoted by large online retailers. Our website will change that by bringing catalogues from independent presses and curated booksellers into a single, searchable space. With smooth navigation, thematic groupings, and thoughtful recommendations, it will offer a richer browsing experience than algorithm-driven marketplaces—reflecting the cutting-edge publishing that defines IIB.
